Introduction to Diabetes Research

During the first year of research studies graduate students will acquire the necessary basic knowledge of the pathophysiological principles of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.  Additionally, graduate students will learn required steps for taking a discovery from proof of concept to practical application. As this program will introduce graduate students coming from different research areas to the field of diabetes research participation is mandatory.

For ADI students, enrolment in Pharmacology 550 (Introduction to the Pharmacology Diabetes) is mandatory.

Graduate students will receive an overview on rules and guidelines of good scientific practice and research ethics during the Orientation Days of HELENA that is mandatory to all graduate students of the International Helmholtz Research School for Diabetes.
