Our summer internship program in a nutshell 

  • Internship period: July 8 – August 30 

  • Application period: Feb 9- March 8  

  • Location: Helmholtz Munich (Munich, Germany) 

  • Language: English 

  • Fees: none. Costs are covered for accommodation in a shared room, a fixed travel allowance (if you do not live in Munich) and an allowance for living expenses. 

 

When submitting your application, please specify which lab/project you want to join during your internship. All available projects will be added to the application portal by 14 February (LINK). 

 

What you will learn during your internship 

  • You will apply your knowledge of science to an existing research project 

  • You will learn to apply the latest techniques in diabetes research and to critically discuss and analyze data.

  • You will be assigned a personal mentor and benefit from the expertise of experienced colleagues. 

  • The dialogue and feedback will help you to expand your own knowledge and develop and discuss your own ideas.  

  • You will regularly attend lectures on various diabetes-related topics. 

 

Who can apply?  

  • We are looking for Bachelor students (minimum two years) or first-year master students based in Germany or worldwide  

  • Field of study: biology, biochemical, cell biological or bioinformatic sciences or similar  

  • Applicants need to be enrolled at their university for the period of the internship.
